How many people are experiencing hardships in the United States? The Project on Societal Distress is a research effort to monitor the prevalence of societal distress in the United States and in specific states. We provide current data on five domains—food security, housing, health, education, and income—and provide this information to the public and policymakers. Click here to examine data and statistics, our publications, and further details about the project.
